Background and Aim: In the context of contemporary crises, spiritual health has increasingly emerged as a pillar of psychological and social resilience, particularly in religious societies such as Iran. Focusing on the experiences of the "Imposed War by the U.S. and the Zionist Regime," this paper identifies and analyzes the components of spiritual self-healing within Iranian society.
Methods: This qualitative analytical study employs a thematic review methodology. Data were collected through content analysis of media narratives, the Supreme Leader's messages, official statements, and public reactions. Theoretical frameworks from the psychology of spirituality, crisis sociology, and religious studies informed the analysis.
Results: The findings reveal that during the period of "The Iranian Nation’s Powerful Defense," the model of spiritual health in society comprised two main components: (1) authoritative spiritual leadership, and (2) the people’s spiritual resilience. The latter was further categorized into eight subcomponents: religious beliefs, the capacity of spiritual reinforcement through religious rituals (e.g., Friday and congregational prayers), the "March of Anger and Victory," clerical fatwas, faith in the legitimacy of defense, hope for victory, trust in commanders, and optimism/humor as forms of spiritual self-healing.
Conclusion: The results demonstrate that "spiritual health" in the Iranian-Islamic context is not merely an intrapersonal experience but a strategic and social capacity for crisis management, sustaining hope, preserving collective identity, and strengthening national cohesion. Thus, reinforcing community-based spiritual infrastructures is among the most effective strategies for enhancing societal preparedness and resilience in the face of crises. |
