Background and Aim: Spirituality, with its influence on people's thoughts and actions, is a very valuable resource in adapting to stressful situations, especially health-related issues, and this makes people satisfied with their lives. Therefore, this study was conducted to determine the relationship between spirituality and life satisfaction in seminary students in the southern cities of Ilam.
Methods: This research was conducted on 110 male and female students studying in the seminary of Abdanan and Dehloran cities in a descriptive-analytical way in 2023. The sampling method was done by census. Informed consent was the criterion for the participation of individuals in this research. The data collection in this research was a questionnaire to measure demographic variables, a questionnaire to measure spiritual attitude, and a questionnaire to measure satisfaction with life, as well as to measure demographic variables. Independent t-test and regression analysis were used for data analysis in this research.
Results: The findings of this research showed that there is a significant relationship between spirituality with life satisfaction (P=0.012) and spiritual ability with life satisfaction (P=0.001). Also, there is no significant relationship between spiritual attitude and life satisfaction (P=0.169). Among the studied demographic variables, only age has a significant relationship with life satisfaction (P=0.03).
Conclusion: Spiritual behaviors, such as praying, reading spiritual books, and participating in religious practices are among the sources that make people suffer less when faced with stressful events and increase their life satisfaction.
