Abstract:   (4 Views)
Background and Aim: This study aimed to determine the level of spiritual health and examine its relationship with mental health and social health among students at Abadan University of Medical Sciences.
Methods: This cross-sectional correlational study was conducted in 2024–2025 on 255 students selected through stratified random sampling. Data were collected using the Spiritual Health Questionnaire, the General Health Questionnaire (GHQ-28), and Keyes' Social Health Questionnaire. Data were analyzed using Pearson's correlation, independent t-test, ANOVA, and multivariable linear regression in SPSS version 21. Age, gender, marital status, residence, and field of study were entered as covariates.
Results: The mean score of spiritual health was 93.99±16.45. A significant negative correlation was found between spiritual health and mental health (r=-0.345, P<0.001), and a significant positive correlation between spiritual health and social health (r=0.208, P<0.001). In adjusted models, spiritual health explained 21% of the variance in GHQ and 24% of the variance in social health, respectively (β=-0.28 and β=0.31, P<0.001).
Conclusion: Higher spiritual health was associated with fewer mental health problems and better social health. These associations remained significant after controlling for demographic variables. Strengthening spiritual health may be an effective strategy for improving mental and social health among students.
