Genes, the smallest chemical units containing countless hereditary information, are affected by various factors in all cells that change their functions. In addition to the body, the soul is also affected by genetic changes. Some verses and narrations refer to inheritance and discuss the transmission of traits to future generations, expressing both the voluntary and involuntary aspects of this transmission. Some also identify the tasks that are essential for the proper functioning of genes. Sins also impact the body and soul, influencing human genetics and are considered a factor in the development of diseases. This research used verses of the Quran and hadiths and examined various books, magazines, scientific articles, and reputable websites to explore sin and its adverse consequences, genetics, inheritance, and the impact of sin on life. The study also aimed to understand the relationship between sin and mental and psychological illnesses, as well as their inheritance. After examining and analyzing some materials, the following results were obtained: 1. Sin can affect the natural processes of the body's functions; 2. Changes occur in the soul when the body's functions are disrupted; 3. Emotional symptoms and spiritual states can affect the body's humors; 4. Sin not only has an afterlife punishment but also manifests its consequences in worldly life; 5. Sin affects the body after it has affected the soul and psyche; 6. Sin may have social consequences along with individual effects; 7. According to narrations, some sins can affect future generations. From the perspective of verses and traditions, sin can destroy worldly and hereafter life, and some sins have the ability to cause disease. According to genetic rules, some diseases can be inherited, and mental illnesses conform to this rule. However, whether mental illness can be inherited or not requires further investigation. Although this conclusion can be drawn from verses and narrations, academic science has not reached this conclusion at this time. |
