Abstract:   (59 Views)
Background and Aim: Given the psychological consequences of divorce and the importance of promoting mental health among divorced women, the present study aimed to examine the effectiveness of spiritual–religious training on psychological well-being and metacognitive beliefs related to a chaste lifestyle in divorced women.
Methods: This applied study employed a quasi-experimental design with pre-test and post-test and a control group. The statistical population included all divorced women referred to counseling centers in districts 10 and 11 of Tehran. A total of 30 participants were selected through purposive sampling and randomly assigned to experimental and control groups. Data collection tools included Ryff’s Psychological Well-Being Scale (2006) and Wells’ Metacognition Questionnaire (MCQ-30). The experimental group received 11 sessions of spiritual–religious training, while the control group received no intervention. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and multivariate analysis of covariance (MANCOVA).
Results: Results indicated that the spiritual–religious approach led to a statistically significant increase (P<0.01) in psychological well-being and metacognitive beliefs scores in the experimental group compared to the control group.
Conclusion: Considering the effectiveness of the spiritual–religious intervention in improving psychological indicators among divorced women, the use of this approach in counseling and psychotherapy programs for this population is recommended.
